Prospective students and postdocs

Prospective graduate students

Are you interested in pursuing a PhD in the Barrera Lab? The first step is to apply to the graduate program in the Department of Physics. Applications typically open in October and close in December.

Interested students should also consider applying for external graduate fellowships, some of which are listed here. Deadlines for fellowship programs are often earlier than program application deadlines and eligibility varies based on citizenship, so please check well ahead of time. Send a note to s.barrera@utoronto.ca to express your interest in joining the group and let us know that you are applying for external funding.

Propective undergraduate researchers

Research in the Barrera Lab typically requires two semesters or more to make progress on an experiment. The best ways to get involved are to apply for one of the following programs.

For full-time research during summer of 2nd or 3rd year

Note that deadlines for some of these programs occur in Dec-Jan.
